This piece, a self-portrait, was initially built from clay and casting material and brought to life with primer and color. Then I realized it wasn’t yet portraying “me”, so I started taking risks – believing that beauty can be found even in mistakes. Using bright colors, this piece became vibrant while retaining a vintage style. Colors originally meant for night and day became happy vs sad or one choice vs another. The words surrounding the head are quotes, all close to my heart, about Love, Life and Beauty. Though their content may seem random, they encourage people to look past imperfection..
